About Us

BeetoBean chocolates are created by Barbara in her kitchens. The kitchen was especially designed for chocolate work, and the chocolate production and storage areas were inspected by the Senior Environmental Health Officer and awarded a 5-star rating for food hygiene.

We always endeavour to reduce our impact on the environment. We have spent many hours considering this and source our packaging to ensure it is plastic free. All our products are packaged in biodegradable and compostable wrappers. We also use biodegradable stickers and our postage boxes are all recyclable and packing materials are biodegradable.

Our Story

I am relatively new to this chocolate lark. Six years ago I attended a class at the amazing Cocoa Black chocolate and pastry school in Peebles, an I was hooked!. I then did every chocolate class and the Masterclasses with the UK World Chocolate Master.
I have long been fascinated by the skills and science of chocolate making, and the end results that are so artistic and elegant. So, a bit late in life (but that’s OK), I started a small locally owned chocolate company creating chocolate as beautiful as it is delicious. Inspired by others in the chocolate community gave me the desire to keep creating new designs and flavour combinations. As long as people want to eat them, I’ll keep striving to improve the selection on offer.

How I work

We use the finest Callebaut brand chocolate ingredients, made in Belgium for more than 100 years. Callebaut uses only the best ingredients and is made from traceable cocoa beans that are 100% sustainable.
Our packaging is plastic-free, and is made from recyclable/compostable cardboard and cellophane.
The chocolate production area has the power supply augmented by solar panels with battery storage, and the heating and hot water supply is via air-source pump.
